Vintage 80s Florida Highwayman Style Oil Painting
Bought from an estate in Ft Pierce, FL, home to most of the original Florida Highwaymen. This Florida highwayman style painting is most likely done by a student of Al Back. This is evidenced by the manner of which the palm trees are painted. Often times when one of the highwaymen would teach a class they would have as many as 20 students in the gallery. On occasion Al Black was known to push the student aside and assist with painting the trees etc.
The painting is a very colorful river scene. If you go with the whole mythology of the highwaymen , The painter had two people die a year that he painted it, due to the fact that two birds are missing
The painting with a frame is 22 inches wide and 18 inches in height.
It is in wonderful condition and really shows off tropical Florida style.
